Reconfiguring an Outlook 2003 POP3 email account to use SMTP port 2525

If you are using your own ISP for outgoing mail (SMTP Service) you do not need to make the changes below.
This change is only required if your outgoing mail service is routed through our servers. i.e. Your outgoing mail server is mail.YourDomainName.com in Outlook or Outlook Express.

Reconfiguring an Outlook 2003 POP3 email account to use SMTP port 2525

Please refer to the images if you have any questions pertaining to a particular step.

Open Outlook 2003 and select Tools -> Email Accounts from the menu.


 

Select 'View or change existing e-mail accounts'

Select your account and click 'Change'

Click 'More Settings'

Select the 'Outgoing Server' tab. Make sure the box is checked next to 'My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication' and make sure the option 'Use same settings as my incoming mail server' is selected.

Select the 'Advanced' tab. Change the Outgoing server (SMTP) port from 25 to 2525, then click 'OK'

Use the Test Account Settings button to verify that the account is working properly.
If any step fails please double check the settings and verify your password is correct then try again. Once the test has completed properly, close the results window using the 'Close' button, then click 'Next >' and finally 'Finish'

That's it! You have successfully reconfigured your email account.
